Nod for Sefton Street Quarter
Liverpool’s £100m Sefton Street Quarter has won the backing of the Department for Communities and Local Government. The plans, from VERMONT Developments and Ethel Austin, had to be referred to central government because some employment land use will be lost. The DCLG has ratified the council’s consent for a 22 stoery apartment tower and hotel, 400 family homes, 30,000 sq ft of offices, leisure and shops and public realm on the 2–acre site.
VERMONT has also won consent for a 96–bedroom hotel in the former Robble Building on Lord Street, Southport.
